Why Shoot Steel Targets?

How Tough Is QT-PLUS?
Our QT-PLUS® is very tough steel, containing more Nickle (Ni) than most steel, and is ideal for targets, and the world's choise for many applications. At these1/2" and 3/8' thicknesses, QT-PLUS has a BHN rating of 461-537, where AR-500 averages 420 - 495 BHN. QT-PLUS is about 40 points tougher. (BHN stands for Brinell Hardness Number, a numerical value that represents a material's hardness, specifically its resistance to indentation.) What Size Targets Do You Provide?
We have Gongs ranging from 6" inches to 12" Inch diameter. We also have additional Silhouette targets in three sizes for special applications. Shop our entire collection.
How Are STRIQPOINT Targets Finished?
STRIQPOINT steel targets are finished in a durable, enamel-based gloss light blue paint. Each bullet impact removes a portion of the paint instantly revealing the exact point of contact for visual confirmation.
The extent of paint removal varies based on caliber, projectile type, and the angle at which the bullet strikes the plate, making every hit a unique and visible marker of your accuracy.
How Do I Refinish STRIQPOINT Targets?
When it comes to repainting your target, STRIQPOINT recommends any all-in-one Epoxy Gloss Enamels. Any good all-in-one products are fine due to is high adhesion to steel. All-in-one products do not require a primer or undercoat. In the future, we may sell STRIQPOINT paint and replacement stickers.
If complete refinishing is desired, it is recommend the target be stripped of paint using an angle grinder with and abrasive wire wheel/cup attachment.
